Carla Ward is a short story author from Central Nebraska. She has been fascinated with the strange and fantastical for as long as she can remember (certainly a byproduct of watching too many Twilight Zone marathons as a child). Her unusual fiction has appeared in publications like: The Saturday Evening Post (online), Night Picnic Journal, Dark Horses Magazine, Penumbra: A Journal of Weird Fiction and Criticism, San Antonio Review, and University of Tampa Press’s Tales of the Fantastic (forthcoming this spring). She was also a semifinalist in ScreenCraft’s 2024 Cinematic Short Story Competition.
