Mant Bares
A Cajun Louisiana native, Mant Bares earned her MFA in fiction at University of Michigan’s Helen Zell Writers’ Program. Mant’s fiction is forthcoming in the Beloit Fiction Journal and Fugue. She has won the Frederick Busch Prize in Fiction and Porter House Review‘s 2019 Editor’s Prize in Fiction, and she was selected as a finalist in the 2020 Fugue Prose Contest. Her poetry, found under the name Samantha Bares, has most recently appeared in Yalobusha Review. Now living in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, Mant is working on a novel-length swamp opera.
