Maya Eli Pearson is an MFA candidate in fiction at the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Previously, she worked as an editorial aide at Northwestern University Press. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, where she majored in both creative writing and radio/tv/film. While she hails from Northern Virginia, she now resides in Iowa City, where she can be found working on a novel and attempting to provide a good life for her numerous spider plants.
