Natalie Brown is a fiction writer in the MFA program at Texas State University. She grew up in East Texas and Houston and has degrees in English and journalism. A former (and reformed) legal editor, Natalie lives in Austin with her husband and dogs.
What she’s looking for: Natalie enjoys fiction that centers the emotional experiences of women and explores relationships and their resonances in people’s lives—and a bit of darkness and weirdness never hurts.
Writers she admires: Shirley Jackson, Carson McCullers, Toni Morrison, Carmen Maria Machado, and Ottessa Moshfegh.
