Kathryn Fanelli
Kathryn Fanelli is a multi disciplinary artist. Her process based practice includes sculpture, painting, electric light, drawing and sound. Influenced by her background in the traveling carnival family, she reimagines the material constituents of the “Amusement Midway” expressed through Buddhist ideas of illusion māyā, impermanence anitya and emptiness Śūnyatā. Kathryn is teaching studio art courses in the manner of contemplative pedagogy at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her work is at the forefront of the Contemplative Arts Movement in the United States and the Dharma in Art. She has exhibited in New York, Boston, and Italy.
